Alicia Barrett

¡Hola! My name is Alicia Barrett. I was born and raised in Chesterfield, County. I attended Bird High School where I fell in love with the Spanish Language. I attended Mary Washington College where I graduated in 1996 with a degree in Spanish Literature and my certification of teaching. I have taught Spanish for over 24 years in both public and private Christian schools. I have taught everything from Kindergarten to 12th grade. I am married to my High School sweetheart and we have two children. Our son is graduating from Bryan College with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Our daughter will be attending Liberty University in the Fall. I love to read, kayak and paddleboard. And I love teaching Spanish and sharing my faith with my students.

Course Description: SPN-912A

Our Spanish 1A course, using the Bob Jones curriculum, builds a strong foundation in Spanish while integrating Biblical and cultural insights. Through engaging themed units, students will expand their vocabulary, learn key verbs, and form simple sentences. While fluency is not the goal, students will gain confidence in basic communication and a deeper appreciation for the Spanish-speaking world--all in a structured, faith-based environment.
