Parent Participation Policy
At Utmost Academy, we want to create a successful and thriving community of students and parents working together. A lot of energy, planning, and resources are necessary to achieve that goal. In order to keep our campus as safe as possible for your students, provide supervision for students, and to support our tutors by allowing them to concentrate fully on their teaching, we need parents to be involved on campus.
For security purposes, entry doors on campus remain locked throughout the day. Having parent volunteers serve at the door helps minimize the need for hired personnel to fill this role. We strive to keep tuition from changing significantly from one year to the next; however, we need your help to be able to maintain affordable classes.
At least one parent or guardian (age 18 or older) from each family is required to serve according to the guidelines listed below:
> A family with only one student who is enrolled in a single class must serve one hour per month.
>A family with one or more students enrolled in a family total of two or more classes must serve three hours per month.
If you are unable to, or choose not to participate, a $20 Service Waiver Fee will be added to your tuition each month. Fulfillment of service commitments will be verified weekly by the Utmost Academy Administrative Team. If you sign up and do not show up for enough hours to meet the requirement, the fee for that month will be added to the following month.
>You must be signed up by the 1st of each month to avoid the fee on the 21st. For example, you must sign up by September 1st, to avoid being charged on September 21st along with regular monthly tuition. For August, since classes begin mid-month, you must be signed up by August 12th to avoid the fee.
>If you sign up for a time slot and are unable to fulfill that commitment due to illness or last-minute issue, it will be your responsibility to find a replacement for that time slot, as the door must be monitored at all times. We will have a “pool” of vetted volunteers for you to contact to find coverage.
We welcome you to sign up for more hours if possible, but the minimum number of hours must be served to avoid the additional fee.
Notes:
We encourage serving for multiple hours as much as possible to minimize turnover throughout the day.
If you know of someone that is willing to serve as a door monitor, please feel free to send them to Jennifer. Monitors must be 18 or older and have completed both a background check and an insurance waiver. This is a great opportunity for grandparents!
Remember, we must have an insurance waiver, and a background check on every one who serves in advance, or you will not be able to fulfill your commitment on campus. *If you have a background check from another source that is current within two years of August 19, 2024 please send documentation to the address listed above.
Insurance waiver: Please print the attachment; fill it out and sign it. Then scan it or take a clear photo and email it back to us at the address listed above.
Background check: Click the following link, select the “VOLUNTEER” option, and complete the online process to submit your background check.
